For elections, when votes for one of the parties are redirected to support another party, does anyone know how this redirect works? In my current riftborn game, my first election ended up with 2 industrialist representatives, 1 scientist, 1 religious and 1 pacifist. No matter which party I give official support too, the scientist and religious votes go to the pacifists, making pacifists my second party. (Not what I was going for--I thought I'd like scientist party for the Dirty Hands Act law). So I'm currious if it is random or what. None of my pops have a pro-pacifist preference.

Party always redirect their support to the same other party. You can see the political circle in the population screen for exemple, on it every party redirect their vote to the adjacents party (and to a lesser extend the pary next to them, but never the opposing party). I think there is a devblog about this on this forum we should chek it to be sure.

(I'm not sure if I'm clear my english failed me today ^^)

Well, after your comment I looked at the archived game design document Community GDD 5 Update - Politics & Senate, but it doesn't seem to say anything about vote redirection. But what you are saying makes sense. Pacifist ideology is between the Religious and Scientist ideologies in that wheel. So if all three have equal support, it makes sense for Pacifist party to make it to the senate.

If there is a dev post somewhere confirming how this works, I'd be curious to see it. This mechanic seems to be another one of those little details that has slipped through the cracks and doesn't seemed to be documented anywhere--neither in the game (tutorial or tooltips) or in online dev blogs or wiki pages.

(If a mod sees this and can move this topic, it probably belongs in the Game Help forum rather than the General forum).

The GDD's are sorely in need of an update to get an idea of how the game is supposed to work in the devs view. So it can't really be fully trusted right now.

I found where I learned about it. It wasn't in the devblog my memory failed me. It was on this wonderful video from Warevyn's World. Especially at 10:30.
