In anything but a small galaxies  (especially large and very large), it can be nearly impossible to keepn track of enemeies that have entered guarded systems.

I LOVE this game, but this is a terrible issue that needs to be addressed.  Having to scroll around the entire map every single turn makes playing late games frustrating.  Please Amplitude, please do this for us, and also please keep makinng DLC.  I'll keep buying it!

Yes. Too bad it wasn't an option in the G2G vote for next quality of life feature. Much more needed than an in-game clock. (I can't believe in-game clock beat a "cycle between all fleets" button in the vote. Guess what, people, clocks on walls and phones are a thing!)

Maybe when an enemy enters the system, the fleet on guard should stop the incoming fleet, then cease guarding so your fleet will come up as an idle fleet. So pressing the idle fleet button will bring you to that system and you can attack if you want, then you can press guard button again.

Another change that needs to happen is that one fleet in a system set to guard shouldn't make every other fleet in the system guard. The way it is currently, a newly created ship will often be set to guard when launced from the hanger. So the new ship never comes up as an idle ship for you to move if you don't want to keep it in that system. Currently, you have to move the ship right after you launch it or risk losing track of it.

Thanks, yes I knew about that.  The problem with that option is it won't force an enemy fleet to stop and spend a turn there.  Also, if you want to invade a planet, then using that will not allow you to invade said planet.

If they separate guarding fleets on a system, another idea is an option to request confirmation when you move a guarding fleet. Who here hasn't moved their main defence force off a crucial node when they're just trying to hurry an explorer ship along?

We do. Create a scout, park at the system, and set the "put to sleep until a fleet or a probe enters visual range".

I usually park scouts at the outerrim and at systems surrounding the systems my largest fleet is operating (to catch enemy stragglers, fleers, or entering enemy fleets).

I think having a micro intensive work around (creating more fleets, using a differnt sleep method to scout) is NOT the way forward. This is an improvement that would be really nice to have; I'm sure they could be silenced if needed - but knowing without hunting when enemies arrive is super important

Also I agree on the "leaving while defending" - I 100% have flown my defence force into deepspace thinking it was my scout. Maybe as simple as having to unclick defend to be alowed to move off.

It's also odd I cant cycle between fleets...I must say I've only just noticed the clock after reading this about it. But still the clock is also cool. I love how amplitude keep supporting and improving there games. Great Job guys

As I already mentioned, I know there are workarounds, but this is totally unnecessary and a waste of precious resources in a tough large game.  They've implemented pop-ups for everything else, a guard mode pop-up for enemy encroachment should be rather trivial at this point.  Once in a while the advanced tutorial will pop-up notifying you of a guarded system space battle so the code is already in the game.  It just needs to be amended to the guard mode so it works like sleep.

Just to say that this thread didn't go unnoticed and that we may have a solution. Its implementation will depend on our improvement backlog and how we prioritize various features against one another...

Notification would be much appreciated.  Even if its something like "Proximity Alert: XXXX system".  Anything would be most helpful.

I just spent a few weeks in the hospital and got home today.  Still sick, but am so happy to see this news.  Thanks!
