How does everyone else deal with conquering a system that they don't want? Sometimes taking a system is necessarcy, but the negative happiness that it creates can be a problem, especially when you are over your system limit. I know it can be evacuated about atbou 13 turns, as the game seems to transfer ownership about about 8% per turn, unless you have a trait/tech modifing it. Also, what is everyone else doing about taking plents from cravers, because the craver pop just ends up spreading and eating all the systems. I personcally load them on a transport and send them all to one system, or to a system that is full so they just kinda vanish.

The Vaulters can send Privateer fleets to capture a system. If their invasion is successful, the system is simply decolonised.

I don't know for sure if other empires can do this, but the poor quality and availability of mercenary ships mean it probably isn't a viable strategy.

Lumeris can deploy quite a lot of mercenaries as they have a large dust income. So they are also possible to use it at mid-phase of the game. But as the time goes, it is hard to overcome late-game fleets with mercenaries.
