Official Wiki discouraging Community Wiki

I get the idea behind the official "wiki", but becasue of how prominiently it comes up in searches, it discourages participation in the community wiki, which is still, despite how long the game has been out, VERY incomplete. https://wiki.endless-space.com/ does not serve the purpose of a wiki, as it is marketing rather than prioviding a comprehensive game reference, but the presence of it is causing people to either not notice or not participate in http://endless-space-2.wikia.com/wiki/Endless_Space_2_Wiki. The official "wiki" needs to be changed to a normal game site and gotten out of the way of the fan reference, unless the devs want to actually enable the official page to serve as a proper wiki. This is the kind of game where you need to be able to look things up, not just get the background story on things.

As an example please look at the craver page on the official "wiki" and using only that, explain to me in mechanical detail how the craver depleation and slave mechanics work.

Hey there,

We're currently in the process of getting the admin rights for the Endless Space 2 Wikia page to give it a fresh new look as well as updating some of the information.

You'll be able to see some improvement in the next few week! I'll keep you updated.

Hi Ato.

You have any way to merge the wikia with the official 'wiki' and give some members of the community edit access?

Just to provide another data point on wiki use:  the wikia site often comes up in my searches for information, but I don't use it because it doesn't play nice with my ad blocker.

Hi Ato, great to hear that you are interested in a "classic" wiki sensu Void2285. One of the things I was looking for in vain when I started a new playthrough, was an updated online reference for the technologies (So I can read into them on the bus). While updating the technology section on the wikia would do the trick, I think an interactive technology wheel, similar to the one-in game, in the "official" wiki would be amazing! Just an idea.

It also does not play nice without an ad blocker. In my opinion, Wikia is a horrible site from a user experience point of view. Only a rather small percentage of viewable content on screen has anything to do with Endless Space, the rest is ads or links to totally unrelated other wikis or blog articles.

I agree, the default experience on wikia is horrible. It becomes way better if you create an account and change the layout to "MonoBook." Then there are no ads and the layout is reasonable. To do this, go to "my preferences" and on the first tab ("my info"), in the Appearance section, change Layout from Wikia to MonoBook.

I am not encountering any problem with uBlock Origin on the website, even when unlogged. Have you guys tried that one?
