Antimatter Lock-On support module: How does it work?

The description for the Antimatter Lock-On support module reads:


Damage per targeted CP      4%


In trying to figure out what exactly that means, I've come across conflicting answers on the internet.  Here are my questions:


  1. I see many people assume this is a fleet-wide buff, but the description mentions neither fleet nor ship.  Does this buff apply only to the ship using it, or the whole fleet, or just the flotilla using it?
  2. Is the "targeted CP" the CP of the individual ship being shot at, or the total CP of the entire enemy fleet (Similar to the "Barrage Fire" Tactic card), or the total CP of the particular flotilla you are targetting?
  3. Just to clarify, since the description doesn't use a "+" or say "additional," but I assume this "4%" means that for every CP being targeted, the damage of your shots goes up by 4%?   E.G. when targeting 1 CP, you do 104% normal damage, when targeting 2 CP you do 108% normal damage, etc?


I know oftentimes the "obvious" interpretation of a description ends up not matching with the in-game effects, either due to confusion on how to read it, or due to bugs/quirks in implementation, so I figured it's better to check with people who might know more.  Appreciate any information people may have on this!

I am assuming it's the third interpretation, but frankly it's a bit of an opaque tooltip.

This is a buff to the ship with it equipped, per the target CP amount of the ship it is currently hitting.

Thanks for the clarification!  That seems fair; a decent way to make Support ships still relevant in fights without being too overpowered.

Sorry to revive this after 2 years, but this was the only thread I found, and I have a question regarding this: 


A) How does this work with flottilla damage? Say, Quadrinix modules? Does the increased damage then propagate to the rest of the flottila, or is it only applied to the target? 

B) Will this apply to manpower damage?
