Is there an option of 2 alliances merging ? Im playing the huge map with 12 players. The AI have formed alliance of 5 players while my alliance of 4 players cannot merge with the other alliance of 2 players even though im at peace with the alliance of 2 players. It was my understanding that the alliance could be of 6 players for this map? Or am i mistaken?

From my experience you can't merge 2 alliances. Only single players (AI/human) can join an existing alliance.

Yes, it's half the maximum players number (round off).

Yes, it's half the maximum players number (round off).

They need to fix this or do something about it. Kinda getting hammered due to it :(
