So I'm nearing the final turns of a fast game with Horatio and i'm on a mad blitz to stop other factions from getting eco or science victories by snatching away huge chunks of their population to slow them down.  I'm now at 12 successful splices and I THINK I may be able to secure two more (if the game would cooperate and stop moving all its citizens away from besieged planets.)  A thought occurred to me in all this.

What's your personal record for most splices in a single game?  What's the theoretical (or even proven) maximum?  Fifteen?  Twenty?  Thirty?  Surely It's more than the 12 I've secured now...

I never had more than 14 splices on normal speed. Micromanaging becomes too annoying at that point. But you can do more for sure.

I did splice everyone(36 pops available for splicing before last patch, 38 after) several (3 times at least) times (not in the last patch tho) with the vanilla splicing formula. The amount of micro and time it takes is beyond any sanity honestly. But what's sanity for true Horatio.

Nah i did Meritocratic Cosmopolites (+2 FIDSI) with Public Minefields (+25 dmg to attacker) and spliced Sowers (-1 depletion, +1 food) among others. This system belonged to Cravers. Bug was related to planets not healing properly (healed only 1 point per turn no matter how many pops you got) from splicing Sowers.

In some other thread I noticed some faction called "Guardian Guides". They are not-searchable, I tried wikias, and searching here and there and nothing comes up.  I guess some of you found this faction, but I know perfectly nothing about them - how they look, how you get them etc.

Guardians and those GGuides are not splicable. I wonder why, as I guess they are Unfallen.

also - there are 40 races, 38 spliceable, 31-32 organics, 5-6 robotics and 3 "others". How Horatio splices genes of robots and rocks? A  Shouldnt it be called something different like "Dissasemblage?" or B just removed from the pool of splicable factions? That way Horatios,, whith B in-game, would eg ignore and completely forego Riftborn/Vodyani, some other bonuses thus make the game more challenging and lore immersion friendliy?

Why would Horatio care about them?

“This population must be built in the construction queue”

Wut? lol... You must assemble your Horatios now after all those splicing?

He made a faction with "continuum sculptors."  They inherit the riftborn trait of not growing naturally.

About Guardian Guides (might be spoilers ahead):

U can get one as a reward from one of the options for Unfallen population quest Guardians and the Galaxy (created by community member btw u can look it up on the forum). I didn't find the way to get more, though original idea of the quest allowed to get more Guardians(Guardian Guides).

Guardians and Guardian Guides are not spliceable i think because u can't produce/reproduce them since with 38 spliceable pops u need 76 pops for the last splicing and you can get only one GG and just a few Guardians. Not to mention their pop bonuses way too hefty in comparison to other pops.

Well i don't know about Horatio but my biosynthetic(thus it can replicate/assimilate any genes/code/whatever) lifeform tries to assimilate, understand and provide means to prosper according to their tendencies for all races present without organic/synthetic/ghostly discrimination. So i think it's fine as it is immersion and lore wise, even for Horatio.

In fact i did Meritocratic Cosmopolites (+2 FIDSI) with Public Minefields (+25 dmg to attacker) as before and used Gene Hunter gameplay affinity with Riftborn visual affinity - growth from production comes from it, not from Continuum Sculptors gameplay affinity.

Wait...whoops, you're right, I mixed those up.  Been awhile since I tried to do that, I forgot those were backwards.  It's reverse terraforming that comes from continuum sculptors, derp.
