I played every faction so far but the cravers. Thank you Amplitude for the design of every faction btw! But i can't seem to play cravers right. Right now approval is almost zero because i own too many systems, i figured i must get new ones as the older get rapidly depleted. As the game describe the cravers as plague that consumes a system's ressource before moving on to the next. I am even wondering why the cravers suffer from overcolinization at all tbh.

Since my people are unhappy they are leaving and i get almost no influence because of that and i can not enable any laws with upkeep.

Any tips please? Thanks.

I had trouble keeping a reasonable amount of Influence at the beginning of my Cravers campaign, too.  The key I found to happiness is that Feeding Pits is stackable for as many times as you want to use it.  It's the built in salvation to your food and happiness woes.  You just need to keep ample slave stocks in your systems and eat them routinely to have ecstatic populations.  (Prioritize alien reproduction in the empire management population options and make sure you spread them around your systems so they all get some.)

Also, the more wars you have the happier your empire is.  Don't be afraid to declare war on everyone.  In the end, I stopped worrying about happiness and kept steadily expanding via Conquest until I had won.

Another tip is to ship your Craver pops from depleted systems to newly conquered alien territories.  This way you can slave drive the population, deplete the planets, and eat the people.

Influence becomes far more productive after your people are happy, and if you take the quest arc that gives you influence per CP destroyed.

Finally, at the end game, level four colonies can build structures that give +1 on colony limits (I never built one, I just took the hit), and there's an empire unique improvement that gives +1 happiness per ship in empire called Cathedral of the Swarm.

You're a horrible swarm of people eating Wasp cyborgs engineered for war.  Just embrace that idea, and you'll do fine.

Or just go religious for infinite content like everyone does on larger maps, just go religious and after 3-4 elections you have the saints and sinners bill which enables you to play like hissho.

Thanks a lot!

No problem!  I hope it helped!  If you need any more advice just let me know!  I really had fun with my Craver campaign.   You do have to eat a lot of people, though.

The way to manage depletion is to try to keep your craver population low while boosting your other minor populations. There are a couple of ways to do this. First is conscription, which will consume one population of the current growing population. So when your craver pop start to get too high, wait until a craver is growing and use conscription. This will destroy one craver pop. The second is to use population boosters on your minor factions. Cravers grow twice as fast as any other population type due to slave drivers, so one boost on a minor faction will even this out, and if you have two minor types on a system, it means your minors will outgrow your cravers. Finally, there is the option to have a planet/system to dump your cravers on. You can dump them on Husk early on after it depletes, and then use another system later.

The main problem with the above, is you will run into severe approval issues. So see below:

With the recent changes to DoWing minor factions and the militarist super law, going religious is often preferable to staying militarist. Righteous Fury gives your pop +1 influence as well, so if that's what you're struggling with it's worth a go. Just bear in mind that it will be 40 turns on normal before you can start dealing with approval problems (so turn 60 if you switch to religious after the first election) and even then, you won't be able to utilise some influence buildings as they require happy/ecstatic in order to generate influence, and you will be stuck at content.

If you want to stay militarist, then my suggestion is to go for a supremacy victory and consume rather occupy nearly every system other than homeworlds. Use Us or Them once turn 60 comes around to resolve any approval problems, along with heroes, and feeding pits for more problematic systems. Keep weak opponents alive to continue warring with them to keep the +25 bonus. It's important that you don't exacerbate any approval problems through overcolonisation, so be careful about where you choose to colonise, and work towards the extra system technologies.
