Assuming the beta is roughly 3 weeks and will wrap up around Jan. 1. The beta will most likely be followed up with 2-3 weeks of balancing, bug squashing, internal playtesting by devs., and replacing icon/art placeholders. The expansion will probably drop late March for some further shine and polish.

If I want to play Civ style gameplay, I play EL.  If I want to play Stellaris, but better, I play ES2.   If I want a nostalgia trip, I play DotE.  If I want to be space amoeba of 'peace' conquering the galaxy, or sentient robotic caretakers of nature, I play ES1.  


What need have I for Firaxis?


Firefly Studios, maybe.  Space Colony ftw!   Firaxis Studios?  Meh.  It's too bland for me to geek out on for hundreds of hours.

EL has slower expansion mechanics.  I'm not as good at it as I am ES and ES2. 


Maybe we can play a multiplayer game and be baffled together?
