Hacking first impressions

Missed the stream due to the fun I'm having with Artifact watched it later and I liked how it is not just about clicking a single button. It is as If a mini-game within a game like in Deus-ex hacking. Trolling people in multiplayer by going ruse systems is going to be a blast. I really hope we get to have much more different defensive and offensive abilities. About the discussion which is about "should hacking abilities spread throughout techs?" I think it should be available at the very start or achieving science tech level 2 (something very fast). Hacking minors could give fewer benefits as time goes on. 


Another point I would like to make is if hacking abilities spread throughout the tech too much it would be very hard to get into the mechanic and dampen the fun. The market is very engaging because you only need 2 research to get into. If hacking needs multiple techs to fully take advantage I believe it would slow too much. 


I wished we have more player vs player (trolling factor) hacking. Something like muting all sounds for a turn or changing the cursor, glitching any information screens. But it seems we only get to change the system name which is still fun. So any of guys spotted something intriguing?

My concern is the A.I having a clue how to ues it.I am not sure if they can actually see the map anyway without spies.

Clearly, that's just Jhell messing with the game to mess with Frogsquadron. Hacking will allow him to ascend to a new level of backstabbing, and this is just the beginning.

I don't know nearly enough about the new hacking mechanics, but they looked like they would take way too long to me.  The demo was set up with the sole purpose of getting to hacking as quickly as possible.  I didn't keep track of how many "god-clicks" there were to speed up the hacking turns, but showcasing the hacking mechanics against One race took how many turns?

As far as I can tell from the stream the speed depends on the distance between the systems and you need a bit longer to hack a main system, if I m correct. In my opinion that is not a bad thing, because the results can be quite powerful. Hacking is also working on another level while the normal game is progressing. If it were too fast you d have to prioritice hacking.
