I've been playing Amplitude's games since ES1 and have always loved the lore. I recently noticed that the armored unit for the Vodyani is some sortof mecha, I wanted to know if there is any lore on this in the game. Seeing the Vods have mechs is just so cool and I want to know more. TBH, like with all the races in the game I just hope we get an Endless franchise installment where we can geta  close up look at the world. Now I feel like I have to run a ground battle with every faction just to see the units!

Hey Cthulhupie !

The idea for the Vodyani armored unit was a natural extension of their lore. Vodyani are joined to a suit in a ceremonial fashion, melding their spirit to the high technology of their "Cloth". While some Vodyani end up being ground soldiers (as seen in some of the Vodyani art), there is also the possibility of them commanding mecha-type armored suits. It was a natural extension of their Cloth to essentially add heavy weapons and an exoskeleton to it; basically adding a brain to a tank. It is somewhat tragic, however, as the complexity of the mecha makes leaving it difficult. As a result, many of the Vodyani who make the sacrifice to become mobile armor end up forced to stay in that form as long as they survive. I should add that while this appears tragic in our eyes, it is an honorable sacrifice that many Vodyani are eager to make for the good of the Church.
