Whenever I hack a special node, the only action I can take is to place a transmigration beacon. However when I hover the node, the tool tip states that a hacking beacon needs to be placed before I can acquire the node. How and what is this hacking beacon?
I believe, the transmigration beacon is what the tool tip is refering to what you need to install on the node. Once you do you get the bonus of the special node. You can check on the FIDSI breakdown back on your home system. I would note that you do not want to have too many of them as they take a lot of bandwidth. Getting rid of them does not cost anything though, so changing later shouldn't be a problem.
It's useful to have one or two transmigration beacons ready on isolated special nodes. Once your home system is detected by a few aggressive neighbors it is high time to move the home system, thereby regaining your cloak. When you move the home system any other transmigration beacons you have created get deleted automatically and free up valuable bandwidth.
You can remove those beacons manually as well if you're running short on Bandwith.
And remmember to focus on those special nodes that are isolated and hard to find, otherwise your opponent will just spam fast scouts with detection modules to flush you out of hiding.
Visually the homeworld node of UC is a black hole. Nevertheless, it does not grant respective bonuses. Is it a true black hole or an illusion? If I move the Nexus to another special node, will I lose this node bonus? If I move the Nexus to another special node, will a beacon be created in place of the initial node?
The Nexus itself doesn't grant the bonus if you place it on the node. Only placing a translocation beacon will give you its bonus, so it doesn't really matter if you place your home system in an Asteroid Belt or a Black Hole.
