What are the limits as to what Dust can do? [Lore]

Hi, another lore question from me.

So I was thinking of asking what Dust actually can do in the Endless universe, but given the fact that it has almost magical properties I think it would be better to ask what it CAN'T accomplish.

The Ardent Mages were able to convert it to energy, the Vodyani extract it from living organisms to power their suits, the Forgotten can somehow make scientific advancements with large quantities of it (but maybe this one is less about magic and more just "buying" technology and scientists). So this stuff is an almost end-all be-all substance. I ask because I wanted to create an Endless board game and I wanted to use Dust correctly as a gameplay mechanic.

If you didn't know, Dust is a collection of self-replicating nano-machines, operating at quantum level. As such, they can do virtually anything: extract vacuum energy, convert energy into matter and matter into energy etc.

Don't forget there's two kinds of dust. Endless dust is nano-machines, and Lost Dust, which is minus the machinery.

Thank you both. I knew about the nanomachine part and I had heard of the fact that the Lost were the original creators. I just need to finally finish a Vodyani game to see for myself.
