My favourite is the Riftborn. But i always win with the Unfallen. I like the Nakalim as well.

Riftborn and UC, but I'm really enjoying the Nakalim

Thematicaly Vodyani.
Playstyle Hissho (at least right now before they do changes to Vodyani).

Umbral Choir. 

I always enjoy the stealthy, espionage, subterfuge types. 

Lore: Riftborn. I wanted to clense the galaxy with obliterators after finishing their main quest.

Mechanicaly: Vodyani. I like their shipbound trait. Makes starts a bit weak due to slow colonization but creates fast and powerful battleships at lategame. Also can move away from bad systems whenever you want.

Gameplay: Umbral Choir. I tend to play more inward focused in 4x games and UC's stealth and secret sanctuaries allows me to enter warfare when I want them, not when enemy decides to.

Cravers, it's a guilty pleasure of mine to ravage planets and move on to the next system and do it all over again.
