Hi,

Something I've noticed about how this game plays is how well it would translate to mobile devices. Navigating the UI is extremely easy and fluid. I feel like I could quite easily control the current UI on a tablet device, and with some adjustments, on a smaller device like a phone.

Has Amplitude ever considered porting ES2 to Android / iOS? Do you (the community) think it would work well, or is it a bad idea for some reason I'm missing? The only reason I can think of is that mobile players don't typically shell out $40 for game apps.

Interested to know everyones thoughts.

I think the same thing that happened with XCOM is the likely result. Its a great game but its not designed to be a mobile game and consumed in small chunks or as you pointed it out to cost $40 and be a hit on the mobile market.


They would have more luck with Dungeon of the Endless.

I'm not too familiar with XCOM, as I am relatively new to the 4x and strategy genre.

I think ES2, however, would have a chance if they released it as free and made the United Empire the only playable race. If players wanted to unlock the other races, pay a few bucks for each one, or buy the whole package... Maybe unlock them through some sort of in-game points too. The basic f2p model.

I understand your point about ES2 not being designed to be consumed in small chunks, but it's doable. The game does save after each turn.

Just an idea, though. I'm not a market advisor or anything.
