New bugs are still being reported. I'd rather wait for them to be fixed.

Well that seems to be the point of a patch.

I would too... but would still like an update soon as well. Buff my Nakalim <3

You literally have a preview to knock yourself out on.

Also to observe all those lobbies that are suddenly active and alive and you can not join.

Also any buffs for Nakalim are ill-advised, they are strong as it is.

Yup, but the preview is not the full patch.

I would like to start a game with my mates, but not if the game is not compatible with the new patch.

Therefore we shall wait. Yeah, i like the Nakalim as they were before pre-opt patch. But that's another discussion.

I just like the patch to come out, so we can enjoy the last dlc in full.

But of course, they have to take their time with it.

I am just hungry for it. That's all. :)

Take care,

Keimpe

Not to deviate off too much, but what's your opinion about their late-mid to late game science production. I tend to agree with you about their balance, especially in the early to mid game, but I question how well they transition into the back third of the game.

Personally I'm less concerned with the Nakalim because I think they're pretty well designed, a little slow on the pickup if you can't find the relics early but they keep pace pretty well as long as you're diligent about exploring/gathering.

My primary concern is the Academy, I'm not overly fond of the rework and I find that the Spear of Isyander is pretty ridiculous to start the game with, a fleet of that magnitude that early is a bit of an "I win" button, isn't it?

I rather wait for the patch. I played preview and got the pending bug. Didn't see that one in ages before and rolled back to official version.

It's tough and it's challenging to say the least.

I'm playing a custom faction right now and didn't care about the first academy request. So, naturally my biggest foe got it and started harassing me. I loved that I had to adapt to the situation. I had a lot of fleets from minors but nothing could beat the Academy fleet. At best it was 6k vs 20k. And I'm talking about early beginning here. I lost half of my ships and my foe conquered a system. I went to research all the ground battle tech early which I rarely ever do. And I also went Citadel which I haven't done in a long time.

I rushed like crazy to build that behemoth and to establish the Citadel. The enemy fleet was almost there circling my homesystem and then... POOF it just vanished. I laughed so hard. It was scary and as the threat was gone, I was so far ahead in military tech that it wasn't fun for the AI anymore.

Not sure if I would've been able to pull this off with playing a normal faction. I'm playing an UC hybrid with Vaulter's ability to use strategics for colony upgrades and Garguantan pop from Vodyani with the ability to use relics and build temple of the lost.

This game shook me in the beginning and now it became a walk in the park. It reminded me of when I first got the game 2 years ago. I had to react and find solutions to win. I enjoyed having that again.
