Hello everybody,

I was wondering if we could still expect something new to drop before the end of this year or is that unlikely?

Great Question!

I would love me some new galaxy, or some random hero.

I'd love to see ground battles fleshed out, when have these cool animations, but it does not really feel like it has depth

At this stage better A.I and bug fixing is required.

The alliance system is the only mess left and they are leaving it so.

I agree with you, bugs can become frustrating and diplomacy must be expanded. Especially the alliance system, that can become a double edged sword at times. I also would like to see better management systems such as population management which can be a killer during late game. And if I have to be honest, espionage needs a rework. Penumbra DLC is such a cheap gimmick.

Well be realistic as none of those are happening.Amp will most likely have the budget team make another race DLC and that's the end of ES2.

I disagree that the Penumbra DLC is a cheap gimmick. It actually more closely mirrors modern day espionage in that people (ie actual people) no longer need to infiltrate deep into a governement system to gain secrets and cripple an empire. There are countless examples of people hacking everything from the power grid to social security to government secrets. How is it a cheap gimmick?

The espionage is just okay the problem is looking at the steam boards is people really dont understand how it works. If fact this is the same for a few parts ala politics. The game needed a better tutorial.

I'm unsure if it is that people didn't understand how it works or that people wanted a perfect defense from hacks and wanted hacking to immediately payoff. Neither is a scenario that could occur. It was a bit sketchy on details at first but if you played with it over the course of a game or two, it became very apparent how it worked.

What is ironic is all those systems changed over the course of development and afterward based on player input.

Maybe a better tutorial is needed but they would have had to rewrite it several times over. And no matter how good your tutorial is, you cannot write to account for player stubborness.

My number one I'd like to see is: BUGFIXING!!!!!

Community did report a lot of stuff and offered the requested files - so it's Amplitudes turn. Not even hotfixes had been offered, since latest introduction of new bugs. Very sad from my point of view. And we don't have a "LeaderEnemyBoss" for ES 2, as long as I'm aware of. If ES 2 is left in it's current state... it's not good for Amplitudes reputation and could hurt future projects sale numbers - at least I'd expect exactly this.

And I'd say you're exactly wrong and have no idea how the average gamer actually works. Sad as it is to say I've known so many developers who left their games in much worse states than this and went on to have several successful projects.

Still nowadays? No doubt, it once was. From what I think, casual gamers behaviour has changed over time. I could be wrong about...

Three reasons off the top of my head.

1) The people on the forums are NOT representative of the majority of people who play the game in most cases. Especially if it is not a very niche title.

2) New gamers are actively coming into the picture on a consistant basis. Gamers who will never research what the history of a company is or even care if it is bad...only the now matters to them.

3) Most of the people out there will not notice the bugs unless they are glaring. Like this recent game stopping bug...how many people are actually experiencing it? I am actually yet to experience it.

The game breaking end turn bug is well known, check out this forum and steam discussion forum for Endless Space 2. I don't experience this bug (no more) since I started to avoid large(r) map settings and player numbers above 6 to 8 players on my end. To avoid chosen game speed "endless" is another point, to prevent from reaching "critical" turn areas, as far as I can see beeing reported on other users end. You should have a closer look at bug reports area, in case you like to know more about (reported) bugs what start to get annoying. Anyway, it's not my personal problem, as long as I can workaround/avoid most reported bugs.

Right but your point goes back to my number 1) reason. Endless Space 2 is a, by now, old game. It was the same with Endless Legend. Lots of bugs and AI errors...with some things just plain not working. The new team did not fix them...did not even try. They just delivered the DLC and that was it. A few bug fixes related to the DLC that they produced but everything else LeadEnemyBoss fixed with the ELCP.

What I'm saying is that this is not new and will continue to happen. Unfortunately.

Yet Endless Legend feels strong in its core and polished in detail (the only major flaw was a mediocre AI, which is still ok), while ES2 crumble in so many ways, starting from small details (a lot of placeholder text), typos (hello exotic rations..) and ending with a weak core gameplay (confusing manpower mechanic, poorly designed inflation leading to a dead dust economy, glass cannonish warfare that denies late game potential and so on..). Thats why Symbiosis banged, because the initial game has strong core mechanics. And thats why Supremacy, Penumbra and Awakening did not reach the goal.

I dont agree at all.The only problems with the game are the bugs,A.I and the alliance system being a mess. This will be one of my top 4x go to games for years to come.

What are you talking about? There was supposed to be a lore pass on the tech tree but I don't think that in any way detracts from the purpose of it. I'm not seeing the "lot of placeholder text".

And I completely disagree with a "weak core gameplay". Since when is manpower confusing? They have taken steps to address the dust inflation and warfare does not feel glass cannonish to me.

Also the base game sits squarely in the positive review wise. Supremacy is sitting in the mostly positve. Penumbra sits in mixed and it is only Awakening that has a mostly negative review score. I'd like to know what goal any of them did not reach? Do you have any insider knowledge of Amplitude's objectives and financial records?

hey, it's only a shot in the dark per se...yet if MORE causes the bug, which seems to be fairly sure...then THOSE with larger memories would be free from it mostly right?  ALSO maybe it is happening to people with their PAGE FILE turned off, which would be handled by default (even though it will say it's on) on  SDD drives right?  So if someone has only 8 gigs of ram AND is running on a SDD would THIS perhaps cause the bug?

I have lots of skill to find these things, yet I need YOUR help also to figure out if I am sniffing along the right tracks on this one!

how useless, it says it's going to take SEVEN FREAKEN HOURS to post this, well that's just great for stellar speed, sheesh!

Can someone please bump up my account status, this is going to take way to long to assist and be assisted at this rate...no wonder hardly any of my messages got fast responses!

Stop spamming the forums with the same report over and over. Your remark is not related to the post.
