How can I make alliance with pirates playing as Vaulters?

Good morning. I noticed my galaxy has a few pirates lurking around and that the Vaulters have a special trait called "Corsary" which make them able to negotiate with the pirates. How can I make pirates my allies? Do I keep giving dust to them until I raise my reputation enough? (first option of the pirate diplomacy window). If I raise the reputation with one pirate planet, am I going to raise it with all the other pirate planets?

Correct. Raise your influence with pirates, until you have peace (non-aggression-pact) with them. Keep in mind other players can do same. Same time other players raise their reputation with pirates, yours is lowered and the other way round. So check out, if other players raise reputation, past you did.
