I'm really glad that after almost 1 year of waiting ES2 got some love and FINALLY fixed some of the bugs. I can come back to play the game.

Anyway other than bug fixing, is there any mechanic or balnce you would like to see in the game?

I personally hope to see a rework for: the minig probes, the lifetime still stacks and the cooldown is messed up.

Balance the accademy (especially spear make it scale with turns) and change how the accademy interfers with your outposts.

I can only think about those 2 changes.

What about you?

Not a wish list, but a realistic pair of changes:

Fixing the strange pathing and targeting issues in battles (making battles obey consistent 'rules' regarding ranges and damage).

More variation between energy weapon types (right now you just choose the best white energy weapon - beam or laser doesn't matter).

Custom faction trait that incrases law cap by 1(or conversely reduces it by 1 as a malus). Cutting minor population collection thresholds in half to 5, 10 and 25. If i go to the trouble to get 25 of a minor faction, i should be able to utilize its law before the game is practically over(if its not already). Either that or give an Ecology law that behaves much like Species Stability Act does for Religious ideology. Say that it disables Major population growth while also boosting Food output on Minor population. That way if you assimilate a new minor faction, you can quickly grow their population(greatly aiding Horatio/custom Gene Hunter factions and breathing new life into minor factions as an actual asset besides their faction traits). Tier 2 and Tier 3 Strategic Probe modules. Seems kind of lame that once you unlock Machine Bacteria that your probes dont improve further like your Weapons, Armor/Shields and Engines/Utility modules do.

Would like the devs to recheck the behaviour/effects/mechanics offered by advanced Riftborn singularities. I think at least some of them are broken.

@Dragar I think a rework of battle system is far from being realistic (by given company ressources) at that point of game  development.

Loving a lot of the suggestions so far, but I personally would love to see some buffs or updates for some of the base factions. Lumeris and, in particular, the Unfallen just feel lackluster and weak in comparison to a lot of the other factions. I really love the concept and overall theme of the Unfallen. However, in actual practice, they just feel underwhelming and unrewarding for the level of effort you have to put into playing them.

Get rid of two of the basic behemoth hulls.  They're supposed to be "unspecialized" hulls yet we have three with distinct hardpoints and stats; I repeatedly told the team during beta we did NOT need all three.  It's just clutter and confusion.  Delete two, name the last one "behemoth" and you're done.

Split up some of the faction affinities in the editor so we can actually use, for example, Riftborn affinities separately without crippling our creation and adjust some of the costs so we have less useless traits and less completely overpowered ones for the point cost.  There's zero sense in the point values.  Even a novice could tell some traits are objectively, strictly better than others for the cost, by a WIDE margin.  Even the regular factions themselves don't add up; some are under the limit by 20-30 points and some are WAY over.  Kind of suggests something, no?

In fact, just overhaul the custom faction editor; lots could be done to make it more fun without ever touching the balance of the original factions if desired.  Government types, for example, all cost the same and you can't start without one, so why are they even assigned a cost at all?  The editor feels very much like an afterthought when it could breathe incredible life and longevity into the game if handled better.  You disagree?  Stellaris would like a word with you.

Let us set up a few custom settings for our factions PREGAME so we don't have to keep clicking through the same menus turn one every game (pick your law, fix your ship designs, etc etc.)  It'd kickstart the beginning of every game a bit when we don't have to repeat the same dance every first turn, like, say...putting that extra engine on colonizers because WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU EVER PUT IN THAT SUPPORT SLOT?

I get the feeling some of these things will be "outside the scope" of the current team, but they bear repeating anyway and who knows?

I wish the devs could allow us to toogle on/off the FIDSI on planets aren't owned by the player in a zoomed out perspective of the galaxy. Every time I want to know if a planet is worth, I need to zoom in to scrutinize the systems individually, one by one.

l wish the develop team could add new ship to each major faction .the new ship  could launch long rang attack to emeny fleet on the star map.but each long shoot require amount of resource.and its have very limited short range combat ability.and its have low speed on star map it must be hide or escort by your fleets

this kind of ship could lanuch different kind of long range attack some is like emp attack which is make emeny fleets disabled some is make some direct damange to emeny fleets.

that could make the game more intersting.

Have a fraction of inflation (maybe logaritmic or somewhere in between?) affect hero- and system upkeep, so the people who go for dust don't suffer from it while everyone else doesn't, really.
And an extra tax on selling luxuries on the marketplace. Too easy to make bank.

I'd love to see how resources would work if they were diminishing (start at 150%, quickly drop to regular, then slowly drop to, say, 50%), but that's probably way out of scope.

... and, as others have said, some tweaks on fleet pathing in combat.
Why would I ever want any ship in the top flottilla unless I want the morale bonus?

I love this game, but when you say "polish" man I can think of so many areas that need polish.

Mostly just a rebalance pass of literally every item in the game: every minor-faction trait, every tactics card, every ship component, every tech, every building, every quest reward, every hero ability etc....

It's not that large areas of the game are greatly unbalanced, thankfully (aside from latest DLC).  It's more like there are lots of little things in the game that just aren't worth getting or doing because they are so inferior to the other options. Frankly, I guess there is just too much content in the game -- more than they had time to balance thoroughly.

Edit: I don't expect such a pass by the devs, by the way. I more wish there was a community rebalance mod that addressed these things.
