Hi,


I have few general questions regarding the game:


1. I bought Awakening on sale yesturday, but I am afraid to switch it on:). But I saw some mods which nerf Academy - do you think this are good?

2. What are your thoughts regarding ESG Competitive Balance Mod - looks like community mod which this game really needs.

3. If I research tech, then new techs get more expensive. What if I steal tech or get random one?

4. Overcolonization penalty.

a) Rant - what a stupid mechanics!! How I am supposed to conquer any race (medium galaxy mind you) with that cr***? Why. WHY?! How is United Empire supposed to go "wide" with 12 systems?

b) How do you deal with unwanted system you conquered? Razing them on anythiong except dictatorship is suicide :/

c) Looks like there is easy way around the problem: Adaptative Admin building. Requirements are high but I modded ConstructibleElement_Industry[StarSystemImprovement] file to switch System level required from 4 to 3. Do you think that's too much?

d) I would like to add Overcolinization bonus to some other techs, or at least increase existing bonus. Do you know how to do that? I looks and look for it in SimulationDescriptors[TechnologyEmpireDevelopment].xml, but I am unable to locate correct line of code. Help.


One last thing:

I played Amplitude games since the 2012. I played Endless Space since version 1.1, I loved the music, art style and design. I also played Endless Legends A LOT, and also loved the game.

But frankly ES 1, version 1.1 was more polished back then than ES2 is now.

Darth Paul and lackluster DLCs are not the way to go. I have this nasty feeling that you guys took the page from Paradox BOOK OF EVIL, and run with it to create your own Necronomicon :/

  1. The ESG mod redoes the academy, in behavior, stats, and capabilities, but Idrinth's mod is also very good (ESG integrated it).
  2. Unbiased, I love it ;)
  3. Tech increase is based off of total techs in that quadrant, so stealing and quest-given techs still count

a. There is a building called Autonomous Administration you can research in the 4th stage of Empire Development that gives you +1 Colonization Cap on level 4 systems.

b. You can pillage, or occupy and then desert the system

c. The requirements are high on purpose. You can go over you colonization cap, but for factions, the penalty is -5 happiness on each system per system you have over the colonization cap. You can easily go over 4-5 systems and not have problems if your happiness is good

d. Copy and paste the modifier from Autonomous Administration to another improvement and it will work

5. There is a patch in the works, don't worry

As you can see name if the improvement is not in the code I pasted. It's from ConstructibleElement_Industry[StarSystemImprovement].xml

As a matter of fact no improvement name is mentioned (aliases were used).

I am looking in the worng file?
