After talking to some friends about their experiences with ES2 I found that prefer different galaxy generations so I was curious what the community at-large prefers.

For me, the more I play ES2, the more I find myself liking smaller galaxies with 4-5 empires in general with a random shape and only a few constellations. I think this is because I enjoy expansionist and supremacy style of gameplay and the smaller galaxy makes these more accessible and less of a grind. I also like that it feels a little more intimate in the sense of if someone is going to win you can actually feasibly stop them instead of having to travel 15 turns to get to them. It feels almost like a board game in a way.

Let me know what you all prefer, I'm super curious!

Huge Galaxy, Dense Systems, Minimum Connections.

Makes expansion very slow, but minimizes how punishing a "bad" system can be, because with so many planets in a system you usually have something useful within in.

Exceptional size 6-arm spiral with few constellations, high density and high node connectivity, endless speed with 12 empires. Survive the early game rivalry in your starting arm while racing the rest of the galaxy to carve out the resource dense galactic center. High connectivity nodes encourages more strategic expansionism, even more if you go with low resource abundance.
