DALLAS, TX - Local couple Dustin and Amber Bludgeonworth are having trouble in their marriage. Amber wants to be there for her husband, but she just doesn't get why the Awakening DLC was all that bad.


 "He just goes on and on about it" said Amber when asked about the situation. "He paces back and forth in front of the bed all night telling me something else he doesn't like and why it'd be easy to fix. It's been like this for nearly two years and I don't know how to help him." Amber insists she's tried her best to figure out what Dustin is talking about. "I hardly even know what he's doing over there in his chair for hours on end. It's all buttons and blobs to me".


"The Spear of Isylander! The freak'n Spear! It's ridiculous. Who in their right mind?....seriously. Seriously!", said Dustin suddenly from the other room as Amber passes by to get a glass of water. "And how are the Nakalim supposed to get science, hmm? It's a key resource of the game! Relics? Yeah, ooook. And the bugs....you wouldn't believe the bugs, Amber!"


Amber has decided to go back to her nightly Hallmark movies and Karen Kingsbury novels just as soon as Dustin gets it out of his system.

Tbh I am fine with Awakening as it is, it's not as bad as people paint it to be. It did release rather raw, it could have received more work, it has bugs, sure, but other than that I'm okay with it.

That's my take too. I do not know what these people are doing in their games that makes dealing with the Academy so hard. It does not make any sense. You can stop the Spear of Isyander and you can do well in the game? What am I missing? Is there a super secret mode that the Academy has that ruins all games? What the hell man?


I've been trying to get people to tell me what is so bad about the Academy for years now. All I ever get is The Spear is Overpowered. It will ruin your game. But it never has ruined my game.

I was ok with the Awakening too and dont mind the challenge they might bring to the table. That was, until recently, I discovered that Vodyani (which I main) are not able to take over the academy homesystem. I no longer play with the Awakening dlc :c

I haven't bought it yet because the reviews on Steam are bad. I have all the other DLC. I played this game a lot when the pandemic came out, mainly as Sheradyn, Horatio and Sophons. Now I'm getting back into it. I really liked the Vodyani and the Umbral Choir. I just finished as the Unfallen and the vining planets thing was a pain, pirates would spawn in my vines and when I wiped them out my vines would disappear, purging multiple systems. Anyway, I really enjoy this game. This is my first post.
