They are hatched, they even have a neutral law called "hatched at home"!

They do have that, but the Nidya, which i more or less confirmed are related to the Hissho in another post, are said in their bio to give birth, as well as the fact that the Hissho comic blood and blade depict female Hissho as having breasts, a mammal property, so its a 50/50 here.

Vodyani and Lumeris have breasts too, so we can safely dismiss that argument.

true, but that still leaves the Hissho's connection to the Nidya.

That's a very good point that you are making. I believe in every game, especially if it spans a universe as complex as the Endless Series, some contradictions in the lore will arise inevitably sooner or later. I think in these cases what we, as players, have to do is interpret the lore and information the devs have provided in a way that makes sense and eliminates these contradictions.

One way to do so is by analyzing which source of lore has more standing. I personally always consider in game text to be the primary source of lore, then comments made by the devs, then fan interpretation of the in-game material. In this case if we have in-game text that says the Hissho are hatched, that the Nidya are birthed and there is a fan interpretation that hints that they are related, I would tend to believe that the first two statements are true because we have direct and explicit support for them in the game. But we don't have to stop here: these three statements can all be true at the same time, we just have to shift our perspective and how we understand the "related" part. We know that the Hissho were genetically modified by the Endless, and so were many of the species in Auriga. With Endless technology being as advanced as we know it to be, it is perfectly possible that the two species had specific genes edited in or out of their DNA for very specific purposes and that they would show different reproductive habits even if they come from the same genus.

Idk some of these mental exercises are "reaching" as one would say, and they don't always lead to the most satisfying conclusions but I think it's all we can do to make sense of the complex lore and be at peace... Or, you know, we can also embrace the contradictions there might be, the thought that the devs don't fully comprehend the Endless Universe and they are discovering it just like us is also very appealing.

I think that Nidya and Hissho being related may mean little for extrapolating one through the lens of the other. Yuusho are also related to Hissho and they're almost nothing alike, to the point of having different number of digits on their hands. We know for sure that Endless tampered with Hissho a lot, so I wouldn't see it past some pervy Endless to just add breasts to bird people because "Huh huh, boobies", without all the evolutionary burden coming with it.

On the other hand, I think that existence of law called 'Hatched at Home' means that they have some special relation to the term, otherwise why would they use it?

Does make me wonder if the Hissho bridges are equipped with nesting area for captains that brought their eggs to the job, cause I really doubt Hissho military would have maternity/paternity leaves.

With how authoritarian and religious the Hissho are, I always imagined that their eggs were submitted to the state (or analogous authority) and hatched industrially in big incubators (or maybe by specialised members of their faith idk, both would make sense to me). I doubt they would maintain a nuclear family structure, although in the Hissho faction lore quest the Leader does mention his father and grandfather so maybe for the higher ranks there is a sense of lineage.

Well, the blood and blade comic imply a heavy family bond, as it implies that Senya was personally trained by her father and from their dialogue with each other hints at a very strong bond.
