Hi there, I was wondering what the future plans are for Endless Space. Can we still expect new things this year? I feel like Endless Space 2 has been dropped since there is no news about it anymore lately.

Its essentially on maintenence mode now, it got its last dlc a year ago, and we wont be seeing any new content for it anymore.

ES2 stopped getting any sort of support about a year ago when the last (broken till this day) DLC came out.

Amplitude dropped the best game they've made to work on humankind, which, with all of Amplitude behind it, gets the same amount of players as ES2 with no support.

to be fair Endless Space 2 was given out for free a few weeks ago when players sign up for the Company of heroes 2 mailbox giving it a nice boost in player count. then again even before the giveaway, the 2 games had gotten pretty close in player count.

Except that wasn't Amplitude. It was another studio subbing in for Amplitude. Amplitude was already hard at work on Humankind. And considering how those extra DLC's still needed to be reworked by someone else, I think we can safely say that they were not directly involved with them.


It would be nice to live in a world where developers supported their games as long as there was interest in them but we don't live in that world yet. It sucks but ES 2 is in much better shape than EL is even now with all DLCs. I don't think there is going to be any huge revival unless we hear of a similar deal with another studio taking the reigns of the franchise and then you'd better get ready for another slew of bugs and questionable design decisions that may or may not get addressed because there is no LeaderEnemyBoss for ES 2 like there was for EL.

I'd just like the Dark Matter issue fixed, the flavour the pack adds is very cool, but not worth getting locked out of remote systems.


And a Concrete Hero, we have three Virtual Endless, but not a single Concrete despite there being two in ES1 :C
