Strange quirks & odd habits.

So after playing for a while I've noticed that if given the chance I tend to favor certain actions to facilitate my style of gameplay and was curious if anyone else has some interesting ones they might like to share.

As an example, in the early game should I stumble on any modules that come out of curiosities I like to start building what I call 'Bounty Hunter' fleets.  These will usually be scouts stripped of engines and loaded up with mid range weapons and the module in question, priority being dust > science > influence (Essence would be top priority for Vodyani).  Once the fleet is ready they will be moved to a system that has pirates or a minor faction and be set to blockade/take trophies from everything that enters the system and net a tidy profit for the investment and be relatively safe until more dedicated ships can be built to take over.

Does anyone else have similar little obscure quirks to offer that are just kind of reflex to you that might up the game for people that might not know how to discover these for themselves?

Whenever the first unit of antimatter or adamantium or some rare luxury appears on the marketplace, I buy it out completely to create artificial demand and raise its dust value, then sell it in 10 turns or so for higher price.

I also like to speculate inflation to raise/lower market prices during the endgame. I use laws to control my dust output. When I need to sell stuff, I try to raise inflation by enacting all dust-related laws like super-tax, the pacifist luxury law and parks not quarks. When I need to buy stuff I enact brains over bucks and senator Bob act and buy everything dirt cheap next turn.

Oh nice, I never thought the market could be played like that.  Thanks for the heads up!

This works best if you are the owner of Trade Clearing Bureau, cause prices fluctuation force AI to be active on the market and it nets you tax profits.
