Playing through the Lumeris campaign, and I noticed during the battle sequences in the deployment phase, it often shows a little ship coming out of a Caravel, Brig, or Frigate and resting on a gantry below the ship.

I’m just curious: what is that supposed to be? It doesn’t seem to match up to any module on the ship. I imagine it’s ‘flavor’ but I can’t let it go lol. Is it the captain, overseeing the battle (and ready to flee if it goes badly)? Is it something else? What is

I always thought their ships are more like freighters or other multi-purpose ships rather than real battleships. Hence in my imagination the little ships and cranes have other purposes than fighting. Maybe rather smth. like harbour equipment to move trade goods and oversee stuff.

That makes total sense, and lines up with the loading screen artwork (there’s ships In background loading cargo just like you describe).

I’m just wondering about that tiny white ship that sits on the crane extension underneath during the battle scenes. I wouldn’t have even noticed but the auto-camera always shows one coming out of the main ship and landing on the platform at the end of the crane. Which is a cool touch,  but I couldn’t tie it to any particular module or weapon, so I got curious ?
