Fixed damage from orbital bombardment is implausible

Why is it not dependent on the firepower of the invading fleet? 2000 damage to the defenders regardless of which fleet is bombing creates an imbalance, especially in the early game: it allows you to destroy a tier 2 pirate base or capture another empire's peripheral system with just one unarmed small ship with just one Invasion module.

For comparison, the reduction in defense per turn during a siege directly depends on the firepower of the besieging fleet.

It's because the game isn't able to transfer the data of the invading fleet into the other empire's system (which is the scope where ground battles take place). We looked into it a little bit during the ReAwakening patch but it just wasn't feasible for the time limit we had

Thanks for the detailed answer. However, I would like to hope that this shortcoming will be fixed before the end of the official patch release period for the game.

Choom, game is 7 years old. Its "official patch release period" is long due.

Hey,

I'm afraid the "official patch release period" technically ended years ago, and the Reawakening update was an exception. We're working on a fix for some issues introduced in that update, but no more. So the bombardment damage will not see any changes.
