I was wondering if it could be possible to add the abbility to customize the colors of the ships you design

It doesn't need to be very in depth, in fact i think that just allowing a few shades of the faction main colors and some decals would suffice

That would allow the player to recognize at a glance their ships during combat, especially when you have many of the same type of ship but different design

What I hope at least is that advanced weapons and material do have some variations, at least in color. I didn't like how in EL, your basic starting troops looked like your über geared soldier in later stages.

Maybe, you could unlock new ship styles as you advance in technology tier? So even though the ships are, functionally, the same, they would look different.

That could be cool too if we can use ship style from minor faction . A mix up of ship can be really cool to see

Would also be tremendous if we could see the attachments/parts  placed on the ships would change appearance according to what we  attach to the ship (like a new gun or a shield generator, etc.)

Seems the modules are now visible. 

But yeah I dunno if new shielding/armoing could change the appearance too, it would be neat.
