how do you guys feel about adding paid protection to the game?

lets say the Lumers are getting beat up by the Cravers

and i wanted to intervene by talking to them i could offer

military aid for recourse or gain favor from that factions.

lets say your neighbors are getting worried about the huge

fleet your building and they question you about it you could just  tell them

not to worry about it, threaten them to give them tribute, or if they like you

enough you could offer paid protection from mutual enemies by

setting up defense stations an patrols in area.

I mean this kind of thing is already naturally in MP, since MP has humans behind it who can work out whatever arrangements they feel are fair. Not sure I'd want dev time spent on this in vanilla given that. However, if we got a diplomacy 2.0 with advanced features and an augmented AI, in an expansion, this kind of thing would fit very well in there.
