A game about building hides it under the smallest icon ever!

Are you kidding me? I spent the last 5 minutes hunting for a place to see what I had built in a system... and I honestly felt insulted by the tiny, tiny icon where they hid under.

Why aren't your constructed improvements front and center, proudly displayed? I mean, one of the Xs in 4X represents building stuff, right?

Amplitude took a huge step forward with the 4x genre in Endless Legend, enough that Civilization 6 lifted the way citites are built and displayed.

And now, with Endless Space 2, it feels as if I'm back in 1995. :( Come on Amplitude, you are better than this!

I found it almost instantly, I don't see the problem.

It took me a few minutes to find it too. In ES1, it was one of the three main windows on the bottom. I haven't seen any footage of anyone else playing, is the UI really small for everyone else? It's uncomfortably tiny for me, and there are no UI scaling options.

Quite agree with the statement here. I have reported a similar issue about the repairing fleet icon.

The UI as it is, is beautiful, however the game could gain in clarity in having main functionalities clearly displayed on the screen.

Of course tutorial will help greatly in finding those functionalities, but won't make the UI more intuitive.

Agreed. Not only are they accessible via a sole, peripheral widget, but their information is presented as small upkeep nodes to destroy.

As a cornerstone activity, built system improvements merit primary representation on the main system screen.

I think you're being a bit disingenuous. It's a button the size of every other, exactly where you'd expect to find it, the system screen, and rather isolated, not at all hidden among, beneath, or behind any other buttons or sections.

In fact it's right underneath the system summary section, kind of exactly where you should be first looking.

No, it's not a button the same size as any others. The individual build buttons are 2.5x as large, the star system management button is 8x as large, the population scan buttons is also 8x as large, three different list enlargement buttons are 3x as large, the cancel build button is 10x as large, the hero select button is 4x as large, and the planet zoom hotspot is huge.

No, no, no. It did take me several minutes to find it, but what I'm really getting at is this: Why not populate the planets with our actual buildings, or at least icons/symbols of them, that you can mouse over and see their effect?

I know only certain major building projects appeared on the planets in the original, but this is a proper sequel and there's been zero improvements in this area, meanwhile again, Endless Legend did major innovations here!
