So i decided to play them after figuring out how the general systems of the game worked and got pretty far with them. However, late game while i get into a war with the lumeris one of their fleets enters a system with an ark and they invade. I did not fair much of a chance so i thought to surrender thinking my ark ship would just flee the system with my population and stuff intact. I surrender and my ark is destroyed and the hero manning it is injured. I find that annoying but quickly reclaim the ark and continue. I get into war again and get invaded. This time i decide to fight this one out and see what happens. I fight and lose and my ark is destroyed again. That is where i have my gripe. It is expressed that the vodyaoni do not actually colonize the planets in a system, but rather exploit the planets but still live on the ark. Yet, an enemy empire can simple invade the system itself and defeat the ark without even actually fighting the ark. 

It would make sense for the workers and civilians to be evacuated to the ark so that the enemy would have to fight the ark to forcefully dislodge the vodyaoni presence as well as destroy it. Instead you can just have a small fleet of ships that would stand no chance against the ark invade the system and kill off the ark that way. And since the system is being invaded, you can't even detach your ark to fight back. Another illogical thing with the invasions is that you can lose infrastructure, but those are supposed to be built on the ark. This would have to mean then that the invasion is taking place on the ark not the planets. If that is the case, it makes even less sense why enemy fleets can just invade without a single fight against the ark directly

Anyone else agree that the vodyaoni should only be able to be removed from a system via space battle instead of these illogical invasions?
