So I played with the Vodyani and much to my surprise around turn 105 the game notified me of an imminent score victory by the Lumeris. Turns out in the current build with score victory on the game only lasts 126 turns (which is laughable for a 4X) ...but I digress.

The thing is I've been already over in their territory, harvesting their juicy, juicy essence so I figured I might as well start a war to eradicate them. Apart from two systems on the very edge of their territory I've eradicated them... home system and the systems with mucho colonized planets included.

So why is it that I've still lost the game to the Lumeris on turn 126? I can hardly believe that an empire that lost over 80% of their systems, population, military and infrastructure is even -remotely- close to being -first- in the score victory.

If that is a design decision it makes me scratch my head in wonderment as scenarios where an empire could be cut down to one measly colony can still win while the rest of the galaxy is owned and pwned by other factions? How does that make any sense.

In the score summary at the end of the game I've found no indication of me purging the Lumeris AT ALL. The only detail I've found is a small decline in the military tab as I've been scrapping their ships left, right and center while they built and built more. But other than that their score in ALL FIELDS on the summary screen just steadily went up, as if my purge of the last 15-20 rounds of the game did never happen. Why is -that- a thing?

And another thing I've noticed... no matter how many xenos heretics I've culled from the galaxy (read: enemy systems I've wiped out)... their sphere of influence persisted. There was NO Lumeris controlled system near me except one of the outlying colonies I've missed due to the time limit and that one clearly wasn't the huuuge blob of influence that so stubbornly remained. Which is mind-boggling since when my Ark was invaded and destroyed it's influence instantly vanished, same way it does when I unanchor it... which makes perfect sense.

I will lean out of the window here and assume that it's a Vodyani problem. At least the influence bit, since even when I invade a system to cleanse it of heathens I still don't take it over since... well, we don't do planets unless there is an Ark there. Still a bit weird if you ask me.
