Some Minor Suggestions (UI, Diplomacy)

Hey there!


I've been playing for a little while, and I've enjoyed what's there quite a lot. I was part of the Endless Legend EA, and am jumping at the chance to contribute and help the game. I have a few minor quibbles that I'd like to go over.

  • There's no indication currently as to why another race is annoyed with you. I presume this is going to be added later, when diplomacy actually matters, but for the first few goes I was pretty confused as to what was happening!
  • Make how many probes you have in stock more obvious. The text in the corner or the button is a bit small and I've had to squint sometimes to see it.
  • I'm unclear on how Minor Faction mechanics work. Do they always drop to -100? Why is this? Is this based on government type? Why would pacifist/ecologist Minor Factions drop like that? It seems like some should rest at 0 or some such. Bringing angry factions back up to 100 in an attempt to peacefully assimilate them is a lot more work than it should be, in my opinion.

If any of these are being addressed, then that's cool! I'd appreciate any feedback and discussion on these points - they're pretty small but I think might be worth looking at. Thanks!

I'd love to get back the ability to do a quest for a minor faction to get them into your empire, or reach a high enough disposition to make them consider it.

Yeah, that'd be great. Right now they're sinks of money and time that aren't fun to interact with. Quests and more involved interaction would be fantastic and give incentive to interact with them for rewards and assimilation into your empire.

I don't mind the interface UI. I just think there needs to be an indicator on the map. I would be able to look at and know which fleets have (or at least can have) probes, rather than having to check reach individually.
