[Balance?] Election Outcomes on approval

Hi!


I'm actually trying to get used to the Cravers and there is one big problem which bugs me big time and seem not to get around it:

Always, after the first election, the result (however it will come out) CRUSHES my general approval and consequently damages my economy in all aspects! I actually don't know how I can hold the approval in a good range and juggle other factors like overpopulation. Unlike EL, we have not that many improvements or such to balance the approval during the game. But in every new game of ES2, shortly after my first election, things go south pretty quickly.

Unless I don't overlook something important, I would really rework the overall impact of the election.


Does someone have the same struggle? I'd really like to now your experience and way to handle the problem! :)

Unfortunately this is how Dictatorship works in the game. You can influence whichever party you want into power, but the population won't like it, so you get a penalty for it.

Even if you chose the majority party, you'll be penalized from the minority.


If you ask me, that last thing at least shouldn't have happened. At all.

 I go Religious to get the forced Content law. But yeah, it should be addressed one way or another.

This is the same kind of thing Bencalica experienced in his thread.


I think the problem is that the systems that are represented by a faction's resource modifiers simply aren't compatible. As Cravers you're getting productivty modifiers from +50% to -50% based on the abundance of resources on your planet. At the same time, the political views of non-craver pops are causing negative effects in the political system. Why should those enslaved and gradually-ingested populations on craver-owned planets have any impact on approval?
