I feel like influence might be a bit too overpowered at the moment. Not only is there no apparent way to counter it, any system lost to influence conversion is lost for good, as they are immediately converted again the turn after you take them back by invasion. I suppose you could take it back if you managed to out-influence the AI, but I don't know if that's possible. I'm still not quite sure how spread strength is calculated, but the AI Lumeris always seem to spread 10x faster than everyone else, no matter what I do.

Influence circles are spread by the production of the influence resource (purple stars). The circle represents the total influence produced by that colony since it was founded. If you focus on influence, you can make some truly absurd circles:

Yes, influence rapidly gets out of control, especially on high AI difficulties.   Sophons are really good at it, as they can rush really good influence techs/ the tech that lets you convert systems in your influence.

I can't really say what the problem is specifically, but there's clearly too much influence; past early game you can pass all the laws you ever want, diplomatic influence use is meaningless, and the influence circles from capitals rapidly gets insane.

On a Serious-difficulty game, on a 4-arm spiral galaxy, an AI capital world in another constellation and not very close to me at all started converting my capital world by turn 88.

Influence, diplomacy and score seems to be completely whacked out at the moment. Influence is over-tuned, forced truces don't make any sense at all and certainly can't possibly be working as intended and score victories can occur before the hundredth turn.

I hope these things get addressed sooner rather than later since they're impeding gameplay and thus impeding testing.
