War Exhaustion to approval

I understand that forced truce are a way to factor the fact that populations do not enjoy being constantly at war, but since there is an approval system why not use this?

For instance a lengthy war would sap the morale of the colonies (especially those close to the combat zones) and you would get a notification about people calling for peace.
It would be then your choice to negociate a truce to get your approval back to normal or endure through the loss of approval and try to finish off our enemies.

I enjoy this idea much more than the current forced truce mechanic, it works well in other games at least in my option, also it should be variable depending on who is in power in the senate and what empire you are in. The Cravers with militarists in power, should be able to be at war longer than the Lumerias or Sophon with Pacfists in power.
