I just had truce forced upon me by a Sophon empire. Among the condition is that I get to occupy a couple system I believe?

Problem is. Since Vodyani need ark to colonize system, I can't colonize them. Why not forcing open border (and thus let themselves be siphoned) or some adjustment to that mechanic instead of offering colonized world I can't exploit.

Also as an aside, the vodyani don't earn anything when they successfully invade a world. its probably balance by the fact I can fully colonize that system with an ark ship but maybe an essence bounty from the slaughtered population would be nice? I had a game where me and the sophon were battling for a score victory. But since I couldn't find any good source of essence to siphon and the sophon were greedy with their own essence,  I had to rush to get a couple new ark in order to overtake their population.

This is curently a problem yes and the only workaround is to not actualy eliminate the enemy, but keep his homeworld/last 2 systems as farms for essence. It's what I usualy end up doing and it works decent enough. Of course the problem is getting there.

As to your primary problem, yeah ... to compound the problems of the force truce mechanic the deals they offer vodyani sometimes are nonsensical in the extreme. Like offering a planet to a ship bound race knowing that they can't exploit that colony due to the closed borders and need to get a new ark.

Yes, the force truce system has a litany of screwups specifically with the Vodyani.

Couldn't tell you why, but again, the Vodyani have quite a few hiccups with the force truce system already.

I would assume it's for balance reasons. The Vodyani already have the incredible ability to build up in one system, then unpack all those amazing bonus things in a far better system later, with an immediate, large population. But yes, they're also ridiculous fickle, and an enemy abusing the force truce system can basically be game-ending for you. It needs work.

Here's what miff me about this whole situation, the fact that going after another vodyani player give me free arks, while going after regular normal non cloth wearing people give you nothing.
