Strategic ressources specialisation

For now weapons and defense modules made from strategic ressources are identical.


Why not separate the resources in 2 categories : Energy and material

Energy (hyperium/antimatter and the green resource particle i forgot the same) would be more effective upgrading energy based technology (laser/beam/shields)

Material (titanium/adamantine and the purple one i forgot also the name) would be more effective upgrading material based technology (hull plating, bullets and missiles)

Or at least that's what i was expecting from the game

I suspect that further down the line the resource-crafted modules will have similar differences to the components in Endless Legend, where each resource contributes in a different way to the component, so you can have one that increases raw damage, one that increases accuracy/hit chance/crit chance, and one that actually boosts defence in some way.


At the same time, I like this idea and I second it!

Didn't try titaniun/hyperium weapons, but I expected them doing something different than just giving better values to existing weapons.

I hope they work into it, giving them special abilities, instead of just an upgraded version that you can get by going into next era. IMO we'll see this as EA progress and major issues are fixed. It's probably in Amplitude's improvement list.
