I found it troublesome that there is no index of systems available that would list the approval level, production, population and so on.

Is something like that being worked on in any way?

Also I thing changing the color of population to reflect approval would be beneficial to make it look like this:
Green for "happy" and red for "rebellion" with other colors representing other states.

There is one, is only diffucult to find. Go in the Economy screen and search the Systems button (top of the screen).

This is a really good idea. Screen does not get cluttered and more information is presented. This would need to get mentioned by tooltips/tutorials and so on, however.
