Starless Systems -> Redesign to rogue planets or orbiting around a black hole?

Today I encountered a starless system with a planet that was flying in a obvious orbit around...absolutely nothing in the center of the system. I don't know much about astronomy, but I thought planets are drawn towards gravity. In the absense of a star, I would have expected to see a black hole at the center of the system, which would explain why the planet is orbiting around it. Alternatively, the planet could be a rogue planet that orbits around the center of the galaxy (not sure how to implement into the game, though).

The description that the game offered for the solar system feels a little strange as well:

"The lack of a sun does not indicate the lack or presence of a particular type of planet."

I think a description like "The lack of a sun does not mean a lack of planets." would make more sense in this case.

What will make more sense astronomy-speaking will be and image of a planet standing immobile in the center of the system and not orbiting nothing. something that looked strange to me since EA started.

think it's a very minor issue, not even a nuisance, but may be cool having this fixed on release.

A planet without a sun - is a planet without energy source. It's a dead planet, dark and cold, impossible to colonize. Almost all planet types in Endless Space are unsuitable for such a system.

Such planets better be uncolonizable, like asteroid systems, maybe orbiting neutron stars with dim accretion glow. Or maybe leave them colonizable, but orbiting rotating black holes with bright accretion disk that serves as a light and energy source.

And how the hell would one even find a system like that? Doesn't every facet of real and scifi scanning look for major stellar objects? Kinda tough to see a cold ball of rock from several light-years away.

Well indeed you're right, but the rogue planet looks very cool, so I like this in the game although not being realistic.

Suppose probably you'll see this shadow on another body, or gravitation alterations on other objects.

This is plain fantasy. Those planets would go straight until they are captured by a sun's gravity pit.

Now I wouldn't be unhappy if an ES3 worked with planets instead of systems...

Somebody could conquer the star but not each of the planets. Systems in ES2 would be planets and theirs moons in this hypothetic ES3, and those planets would move independently one from each other.

Meaning you could be close to your friends but in a few turns, close to your ennemies and rework your diplomacy accordingly.

Then there would be gates orbiting the suns too (close or far) to others systems. And comet to exploit.

That would be cool, I guess.
