Easy to miss Diplomacy responses...

Suggestion:  When a diplomatic action is done by an ally or from a race dumping on you, whatever the case, if you have actions you can do back, which I love, the only notification you get is a red exclamation mark next to the diplomacy icon in the upper right.  VERY HARD to MISS!  Would love to have it become a popup if you have a response available.

For example, I am in an alliance and I voted not to accept a truce from who we were at war with.  Apparently, my ally chose to accept and the war ended.  I did not notice the red exclamation until a few turns later and finally figured out what it was and where to look in the diplomacy screen.

In addition to a popup instead of the small, easily missed exclamation mark, how about a popup, if you are in an alliance, where you and your allies, can do a preliminary "vote" on a response to say a truce and see how they may vote before submitting your final reply.  Basically come to a consensus.  Also allow you to offer resources, tech, etc to persuade your allies to vote in favor of your choice and vice versa. (bribes)

Thanks.

The vote is something we would very much have wanted to do, but at the stage we're at it's no longer possible with the constraints and resources we have.

We decided to take the notification route (the red exclamation mark) rather than a pop-up to avoid risking spamming players ; when you play in smaller galaxies with many players, the number of contextual actions you have available can be very high.

What happened to the war and peace vetos? Are they no longer compatible with the post-Statecraft system?

They did bring issues with the system and for simplicity's sake it was decided to remove them.

Please bring them back, it did not make things simpler, only more complex. Unilateral decission making by alliences to make or end wars is not simple. I have posted an Idea on how he allience system could realy improve.

I have to agree. Current solution is bad.

Alliances are not fun anymore. Denying alliance requests from NPCs I like, because of weird constraints in game-design makes me sad.

I can understand about the voting and also having the notification pop-up.  How about, instead of the red exclamation mark, you could make the diplomacy icon pulse white for example.  The red exclamation is just not very noticable.  Thanks for listening!

A flashing icon sounds like a goog idea - maybe accompanied by a one-time SFX? Less intrusive than a popup.

Please bring back the ability to veto, or at least vote on going to war/truce. I've had too many times where I've refused a truce from the AI, only to have the war end 3 turns later because the enemy just decided to ask an alliance member the same question again.

It's like when I was a kid; If there was something I wanted but knew I probably shouldn't have, I knew mom would say 'No', so I would ask dad instead.

Yeah, I have to concur, not being able to veto alliance decisions is an excercise in frustration. In my last game, it took me something like 40 turns to conquer a large-ish Lumeris blob because they kept making peace with alliance members behind my back.
