Hi,

once you are set for victory, you basically just dominate the galaxy and go for the win.

From that point on, managing colonies becomes a nightmare, because:

-You can afford everything

-You don't have to make a choice, you dominate anyway

-You just build it all anyway

-> But you still have to go through a gazillion of clicks every turn to update your building queues.

-> It feels like work, not like playing.

A simple addition, a generic "automation policy" next to the other ones (food, industry, science etc.) would do the trick.

Programming wise, the "generic automation policy" would just cycle the already existing "specific automation policies". It builds an item, cycles to next category. Builds an item, cycles to next ategory. No item available? Cycle to next.

This can't be a task of rocket science.

Come on! :)

Aren't there Policy settings in each system that allows you to focus on each FIDSI as well as Manpower that automates building?

Pretty sure it's there, I just never use it because I don't trust the AI, which is probably a terrible decision on my part since I'm not an ES Master :P

EDIT: Just looked in-game. It's called Automation Policy and it's right under all of the FIDSI/Resource Stats on the System Menu (doesn't include Manpower, but Happiness is there)

I am not sure if you are trolling me, or you just really haven't read my post :) :)

In my post I am talking about how those automation policies you mention could be used for a new automation policy option: "Generic"

Wasn't trying to troll, just misunderstood your initial post. So just a "Balanced" Automation Policy then, like they have for Governors in Civilization?
