so yesterday i plaed online with same cravers from the discord chat. we pick a quick game (150 turn) and played. and as you may know, in a fast game, all building and tech cost half to build and resources, but you still creat the same amount of resources as normal. (including influence)
so i noticed that when im trying to interact with minor faction. it look ok BC my praise work twice as fast (+4 over 5 turn=20), and in the normal speed it would be (+2 over 10 turn =20) so we creat the same amount of aprovel for the same cost of influence. but! the problam start with the fast game, when you creat half of the amout of influence you normaly do in a normal speed. and so, trying to praise a minor faction become realy influence expensive :/ (it's still cost the same to assimilate them, but we creat half the amout of influence so it's twice as expensive)
I thought it would be possible to solve this by take the cost to interact with minor faction by half, or make it you only need 50 aprove to including them
I agree with you. If cost of buildings et tech are reduced, all action having a cost (diplomatic, changing combat tactic, etc) shoud be also reduced.
I wonder if even ship movement should be doubled? I found out that playing in a quick game with 8 civilizations is harder to interact with all 8. It's even harder to win by supremacy in 150 turns.
I found out it was more fair to play a quick game in a 4 civilization galaxi with only 3 opponent
but i dont think a quick game meant that everything should be twice as fast. you can still achive supremacy in a small galaxy. as you said the magic number is 4 for quick game.
but as i see the minor faction right now. there is no reason to even try and praise them. it will take to mush of your influence, so you will praise them slowly, you will expend 2/3 time b4 you even finish to praise them. and when you do finish to praise, it would cost like 400 to assimilat. you would just better creat a flit and atk them.
but then you lost the main mechanic of the minor faction. they are not a land to be Conquer, they are like little brother, you need to show them who's the boss. by power, or by been nice :D
I play fast mp games more frequently than most and not encountered this issue. Influence buildings at half the cost and getting to spin projects faster negates this quite a bit. Also all players on fast are subject to the same dynamics. Minors are worth rushing for from the bonus thry give for being in good relation. Not even including the faction traits you get as you assist and aquire.
