In my fourth completed game, this time as Vodyani, the game felt less finished than in the other three (United Empires, Sophons and Cravers). The reason is too many things going on that was not explained in any way. 

In my first games I used the tutorial know x4, new to endless universe. Turned if off after two games, as using it turned out second game just repeated the avide from the first game. 

So actually a suggestions first: Have the tutorials log what tutorial info have been shown, and have this carry over into next game, but a check box/question at start of game asks if player wants to reset the tutorial log.

Yes I did also read user manual.

But here is a list of things that I missed explanation for and if I think it belongs in tutorial or as a fixed explanation

1) Simultaneous movement, not sequential turns - Probably belongs to tutorial/user manual.

2) Influence only appears once ownership status of systems exceeds 50% - Probably belongs to tutorial/user manual.

3) Autocracy. The part that you actually choose who are to be in power. The tooltip only says those supported will get a small boost, not that they are empowered. And maybe also say what happens if you repeat the choice (their popularity gets a boost every time?) - Should be in tooltip (ie when selecting who to play) imho.

4) Shipbound: That you can’t build planet specialization or terraform. Ark population work all colonizable planets. You can’t friendly convert. - Should be in tooltip (ie when selecting who to play) imho. I actually think Shipbound should be two traits, but I'll post that as an idea in a separate thread. Keep this as an idea to improve the tooltip.

5) Quest: Chapter 1 - Church and cloth part 2: Says I need to “brainwash” a minor civ, and tooltips tells me to use the brainwash action. I didn’t find any brainwash action. In diplomacy screen I could praise, ask for quest or declare war; In Galaxy view I could harvest essence. I choose to do a quest for them instead, and after completing a game winning with Vodyani I still have no clue about what a brainwash action is.  

These are all good points of feedback regarding tooltips, though.

I certainly would like clarification on that shilding module - I've also been told it's positive... but not certain!

Fully agree that many tooltips are either misleading, or in some cases outright incorrect E.G. Guardian Harvest.  Incidentally, I myself was wondering about the -50% Critical Damage, and it seems like it's definitely a positive thing, but still some debat on exactly how it works.

My vote would be that before a "lore pass" through the tech tree, the first thing needed is an "accuracy / clarity pass" for all tooltips, just to make sure the info given is correct and easy-to-understand.

The Tech sectors needs a work over in so many ways. The lore pass can be an entry point, but while at it, move things and make things better. I think it's a complex work to fix.

More things to explain: 

One of the most special things about Riftborn is their ability to colonize toxic and possible other non-fertile worlds from the start but need techs to be able to colonize fertile worlds. This is not explained anywhere. I figured out pretty soon though. It's just strange something like that is not stated. One of the Riftborn abilities, biophobic, states happinnes bonuses only, not the thing about colonizasation.
