Hello,

I have no *hard* data to back this up, but I have observed mostly but not only over the past last two patches the following (full upgrades assumed):

100% aircraft will potentially lose to 100% tanks (where 100% tank profile would win instead)

100% aircraft will potentially win over 100% troopers

Of course there is a multitude of factors in play which we have no real way of observing and establishing a baseline of whether this is correct outcome or little off.


But to back this, I went and experiemted and on average tanks simply do better vs tanks than aircraft. And this seems off.

Have you observed the same kind of behavior?

Had a similar experience when one of my 80-20 tank infantry maxed out troops with higher deployment lost against 100% pure infantry. I was against Unfallen so I thought maybe they had their Guardians and other things contributing. Will keep an eye out for it.

I long ago decided to simply set tanks to 90% as soon as I can, and then forget about this screen (except once in the late game to upgrade all the tanks). The choices here are shallow (at best it amounts to rock-paper-scissors), and the effects on infrastructure population damage duplicated when it comes to actually invading.  (Did you even realise there was a difference?)


The ability to set manpower distributions would be better removed, and folded into the ground-invasion choices.

Yeah, and I see the pop/imp destruction as an added bonus ever since I went from "hmm let's just chill x turns in orbit and invade" into drop off, invade, go refill, invade another.
This doubles when you simply go for pure harassment when you just drop as little MP as possible and go with orbital bombardment ending up destroying couple turns worth with minimal investment.


But back to the point, victory-wise, it seems 100% tanks is all you need and should they attempt to counter you with aircraft, they will lose even harder for reasons unknown.

Just to get the obvious out of the way:  I assume you are comparing tanks and aircraft with equal numbers of upgrades?
