Even when you're in an alliance. This means you start get nastygrams from them sooner or later. 

I would never have noticed that tiny eye icon next to the end turn button if I didn't google for allies complaining..

Maybe this should be a bug.. 

Oh and the pings are disabled the next time you reload as well.
