I have a huge idea and I'd like to have help into putting it into acheivable steps, any suggestions?

Hi community. I am the creator of a idea in G2G called A New Multiplayer System. This idea came up to me as a solution for many ... Problems, i had in my experience whit the game. 


Many of these Problems i experienced where starting to make the game to feel more... Lacking. its weird when you fight against the AI and notice that he is not a real chellenge, and once you play against other players... they simply leave and let you fight the AI instead of other players... and when you start to play multiplayer games where everyone can leave at any time, where you can't finsih your matches because "Oh you have to play everything at once because it is to difficult to find all the people and start this match again whit all of them reunited" or something like that, constantily playing multiplayer matches in fast pace because "everyone needs to finish it fast" because some people dont have time to play the whole game... 


All that stuff i experienced, maked me seriously worried. I want to experience the game better than worrying about all that stuff listed above, and more. i just wanted to click some sort of button and let everything be done by itself. I click the button, the match organises... i find people to play whit, people won't leave once they start they game because "oh i don't have availble time for this" making the game even more boring for me. 


I wanted to play a match competitively where things would be difficult, where i could create strategical relations whit other empires , and ensure my way to victory was filled whit betrayal, plans in order to ensure my victory... trusting my friends and forging alliances... Where true pros fight true pros, where beginners fight beginners, and where people like me who just want to play strategically and enjoy most of the game has to offer, play whit other people who want to play competitvely, based on their "handsome" knowledge of the game...


I thought a way where things could be better :)


But then i found out a problem: As frogsquadron said, my idea is very, very, VERY long. And i believe frogsquadron and most other devs, do not have enough time to read everything in my idea... because they have very important stuff to do and reading my idea... consumes too much time they could spend elswhere, in improving the game even further. 


Then he asked me to create a shorter version of it, but... my idea is so big that i don't know where to start whit. 


Most importantily, im not very good whit organizing things... and i need some sort of help, like... a formmating method, where my idea is explained Clearly  in simple, small steps the devs can read. Im not sure where all my theory goes in those "small steps" because the theory i designed, is the main point that make my idea big as it is. Then i start to wonder if it is possible to place all my theory in those small steps and make it small enough for devs to read... I tried my best to make the information i was trying to explain as objective as i could... But it seems like its not enough for the devs. Is there a way to make my idea even more objective and explained in small points or we will have to destroy most theory in order for it to be small? i can`t say. 


And that is because im asking the help of the community to *READ* my idea whole... and help me organizing all that information in short, achievable steps the devs can read.

So I admit, I looked at the post and was very daunted myself - I have not read the whole thing. I would suggest though, as a way to make it more digestable, put all of the theory up front and then make a bullet list of the actual in game changes that would occur - leaving the reasons for those changes aside. Order those bullets into sections and that should cut down on the quantity of words

Your idea isn't really one idea. It's a number of small ideas, all of which could (or could not) be implemented seperately.


If I were you, I'd distill the individual points into small, discrete units, and focus on the ones you think are most valuable.

Thanks guys. I've also imagined a way to make these small short points in my idea. I think i will try to practice it now and make a "shortned version" of my idea based on this feedback. Tell me what you think after! maybe it will become good :)

Hello guys. I've just updated my idea whit a Short Version Or Short Edition ... but its more a redirection to the big texts than a actual resume of my idea *facepalm* is that good enough? :(

As Dragar said, it seems your notions are really a bunch of smaller, possibly interlocking ideas that may or may not be doable in smaller sections.  Maybe try looking at your proposal in sections that can be read separately and try organizing it that way.

Daynen, i even tried to explain this in the short version i created for my idea... Some "Separate notions" for my idea, are actually compliments for it. For example, the manual timer increase and automatic timer increase, are features i created in my idea to increase timer whiteout adding too many options, like the current method has. But the only things i consider "smaller updates" that are not necessary linked to the main idea, are the quality of life improvements for multiplayer i explained. But these quality of life improvements i... really like them, honestly. 


Problem is, the main idea itself is so big that implementing the minor quality of life improvements or not is basically having to choose a target for a massive rocket launcher: One, big group of enemies... and another, a Big group of enemies whit some apples scattared around. I mean, the main idea is too big, and the minor ones are... well... minor. :/ its not really easy to separate the main idea from other concepts... One thing leads to another... 


It is possible to create my idea whiteout the Endless Space Agenda, whiteout the other concepts but thats basically not even considering everything i just made... because, the good part in my idea is the one it requests alot, sadly... :/ i dont know how to separate all that stuff.

Hello, i've tried to make my idea shorter by implementing a Short Edition to it. I managed to organize the central idea in it and reducing some of the read in total... But it is still... Seemingly, very very big. And i dont really know how to reduce the sheer size of my text further. 


Any tips or this short edition is good enough to explain my idea awhole?
