I'm not sure if this is brought up yet or not as I didn't search for that long, but anyhow.. I was experimenting with behemoths today and found that that if you put the -% science modules on like 5 of them and place it on a black hole or asteroid belt etc that you'll get 100% reduction in science costs for the tree associated with that special node.  Is that intended? I basically had free tech very early in the game, learnt everything in 1 turn.

No, this is the balance issue. Percent reductions should by its nature stack multiplicatively, not cumulatively, so that you would never reach 100%

 We really need a fast hotfix for behemoths. At this point, most of my friends stopped playing multi-player altogether, and it's been a week for what should be a first day hotfix just changing it. I'm almost never negative when it comes to bugs and stuff really, but this specific one is having noticeable impact on the game for me.

I feel the same, always been on the dev side, especially after leaving the early-access and such... but now they doin it again, releasing something in a really bad state making the game for some of us unplayable (do not reduce this to features only! Its also often just enough "knowing" there are so many issues and with that in mind "what will i encounter next?" or "is this supposed to be like this?")

Dev should consider get to the public with an statement of WHAT they know are issues and WHEN they will be fixed, so, at least i have a date of when i come back to see some enjoyment...

This was reported during the beta, it was supposed to be fixed but apparently it's not. We're on it, should make it in the next patch.


Sorry for the inconvenience (just fire an Obliterator missile in there if you see 5 Behemoths stacked on a node ;))

The reductions in the game (in general) should never scale up to 100% (we had the problem with dodge for ships, buyout reduction for system levels, etc.)


In the case of the science Behemoths the max reduction will be at 75%
