Hello. We finally got different Ark designs in the newest patch and it's really really cool, a lot of people(me included) have been asking for this for like a year. However, the change doesn't quite have the effect everyone wanted. The point was, Arks need to have different designs(combat, travel, stationary, etc.), sometimes having to change them multiple times per turn, and when you have 15 Arks it gets tedious really fast. Now we can have different designs, which is nice, but we can't switch the Ark into them. Once you created an Ark of an existing design, you can't change it, so if you want it to suit a different role(say, you create an Ark full of movement modules, and once it arrives where it shoud, you want to turn it into a colony Ark) you still have to manually edit the design. So, so far the change reduced the tedium only by a half. Could we get an ability to retrofit a hull into a different design? Please? I promise to create an Amplitude studio shrine at my home if you do that.

This is actually what we would have wanted to do ideally, but it's much more complicated for us to do. It's in our list, we hope to be able to do it at some point!

I'm very curious how this would work in the game's UI. Seems like just letting us meddle with each ark individually (+a button on their screen to load a design that we actually saved in our ship designs) without clogging up the ship design list with every ark would be good. Double-click on the ark icon to go to a design screen for that ark?

Well what I was suggesting is the ability to switch ark between different designs, so you make several and then switch the ark between them on the design screen.

Switching designs would be handy for other ships too. Advanced players often specialize their exploration & support ships for speed, siege, transport, medic, etc. and it would be handy to retrofit ships between those roles as your strategic needs change. It would also be helpful for Vodyani vs Vodyani matches, because currently when you recover a rival wreck, you don't get to choose which design the retrofit will use.

Another thing about Arks - please, please, please chanage the icons for Ark support modules (All must <insert activity here>) depending on the level of the module - just adding a roman numeral in the corner would do. As it stands right now it's such a pain to alway check them manualy to make sure that the latest ones are installed.

The top of the cube becomes more filled in as upgrades progress, actually fairly simple to scan them quickly if you know what to look for 

Copy the Behmoth spec system and tweak it for Arks.
