Hello

Some friends and i have been playing a lot of endless space and quite enjoy it, however i have noticed some things that might have gone unnoticed.

The economic behemoth for instance can have an easy 20 to 25% bonus to fids on a system this is fine on regular systems even for the cravers.

but with the umbral choir since they only have one system that gets alot of bonuses from its sanctuary this bonus is worth alot more then the behemoth cost for the umbral choir

(compared to any other faction).

My problem with this starts when i realized that you can stack these behemoths on top of one another giving 1  system an easy 100% fids bonus.

im not sure this is how behemoths were meant to be used with the umbral choir but it feels rather unfair compared to any other faction.

Obliterators and juggernauts cannot cloak. citadel is cloaked and without shield always.

Base behemots have the base cloaking ability for UC, making the aforementioned stacking even easy as long as you don't move your system.

this feels really unfair since im trying to compete with somebody who is producing 3k science and 1.7k industry, while i am  producing 300 industry at max on 1 system with a total of 1.2k science as the vaulters.

fighing multiple behemoths while he is cranking out entire fleets in 1 turn makes it seem impossible to beat.

not to mention that he can see what my fleet is based on deu to being hacked on a regular basis.

any tips or tricks that can be used to mitigate this?

Go full Exodia on them.... Obliterate! They may have too far of a lead but threaten their system with an Obliterator, then try to track where they moved to.

as far as i remember special nodes cant be obliterated , but yes exterminatus was my go to solution.

i honestly dont know if this is a game balance issue or not.

Put defensive programs on borders systems. Also try to locate a suspicious node and surround it with defensive programs (reccommend encript, to slow hacking speed).

Invade them. they have very bad MP.

You can too destroy sanctuaries with hacking (if they're not in your own systems).

You are correct: special nodes cannot be obliterator targets, so UC 1 system is immune to them, but you can still obliterate every sanctuary, negating them lots of benefits!!

I made a tutorial with some tips to play against UC. It's in tutorials section.

thanks il take look at it, got a decent grasp on hacking but might discover things i havent noticed before.

and as a possible fix to the behemoth stacking i would say either no stacking at all or with penalized returns for multiple behemoths.

Oh, I thought the system could at least still be targeted, but immune to the destruction. Would be useful to kill the behemoths or force them to move.

not sure if you can kill them all with an ion wave. never tested.

I did hack uncovered sanctuaries to remove them - located in my own systems.

Edit: To be more precise I removed a sanctuary in one of my systems what was placed on an uncolonized planet. Perhaps this is handled different?

don't know specifics ofevery situation. Don't know for sure if being at war can influence.

but normally the problem is that you cannot target own nodes.

thx for the point anyway!

what i tend to do if im searching for sanctuaries is to hack through my own nodes and pick a relativly easy target as minor civ pirates or a enemy small system

i mostly play the vaulters  so my systems tend to be scattered. only once found a sanctuary so not sure if this method works.
